During an extraordinary press conference, president Ilir Meta made a public denouncement regarding the entrepreneur, who raised the allegations that he had been unfairly fined by his “patron”.
Meta condemned what he called blackmail exercised on citizens’ right to vote and urged all government institutions to investigate and citizens to not accept this injustice.
“It has been such a long time that my business is threatened and fined time after time. I discovered the real reason and the person, so my Patron,” said the denouncer, Erion Mane, who owns a travel agency.
The entrepreneur stated that he had allegedly received continuous fines from road authorities because of an overturned law.
“Every Saturday, I have gotten continuous fines from road authorities because of an overturned law, after the liberalization of touristic licenses took place,” said Mane.
President Meta stated that he will start investigations for this case starting from tomorrow while appealing to citizens to not sell their freedom.
“How long will this blackmail and pressure continue? Citizens of the Republic, don’t give up on your rights and freedoms. I will ask the further investigation of this case, first thing tomorrow,” said president Meta.
