Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku declared on Thursday that the price of electricity will not go up.
Balluku said from the podium of the plenary session that the government will sit down with business owners by the end of May to discuss the situation.
“The price of electricity will not increase. The Albanian government will continue to protect families and small enterprises through its resistance package”, Balluku said.
Balluku added that the government is still assessing how it will handle subscribers that consume over 700 kilowatt-hours on a monthly basis.
According to her, it was a citizens’ demand to make a distinction between the use of energy for family needs, over utilizations that are not classified as basic needs.
