Interior minister Bledi Cuci submitted an official request near SPAK, calling on the institution to investigate a declaration made by opposition leader Lulzim Basha during a plenary session.

Sources from the Special Prosecution confirm that the request is over Basha’s statement on an alleged Albanian drug lord who has pre-ordered an apartment in one of the highest towers currently under construction in Tirana.

“Greed could not stop you, meanwhile COVID was apparently an obstacle to building the houses (damaged by the earthquake), from building a 50 storey tower co-owned with oligarchs and organized crime bosses. The cocaine lords, who you know very well, just like I know who they are from our partners, you should know of them from your police. Perhaps the new police chief will tell you who is the cocaine lord that has pre-ordered an apartment at the tallest tower in Albania”, claimed Basha.

So far, the chair of the DP has not deposited a lawsuit at SPAK, but on the other hand, Euronews Albania has learned that the Special Prosecution is probing into Basha’s claims.
