Socialist MP Blerina Gjylameti, said that the Socialist Party will be conducting an analysis of the balance sheets in each municipality in order to arrive at the names of the best possible candidates for mayor in the upcoming local elections.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, Gjylameti said that today’s meeting of SP’s leadership came after two previous meetings, which revolved around the accountability of the mayors on their promises and achievements.

The next phase, the MP clarified, will be the concrete discussions on the ground with citizens.

“In every municipality, an analysis of the balance sheets of achievements and what needs to be done better is being conducted. We are still far from the names of our candidates. What matters is what the citizens expect from us. There were two meetings before the presidency and they were about the accountability of the mayors on promises and achievements. And based on them, we moved to the next stage, which is the concrete discussion on the ground in meetings with citizens in order to choose the best candidates. The name is not important, what the citizens expect from us is”, said Gjylameti.
