Police have escorted a doctor from Tirana’s Trauma hospital after allegations of corruption and bribery.

Sources confirmed for Euronews Albania that the doctor in question is Fitim Marku and that before getting arrested he was caught red-handed taking bribes from a patient.

Civil police officers are still inside the hospital premises where they are currently in the process of seizing some of the patient records and the doctor’s register.

Currently, the situation at the hospital is calm, whereas the citizens have left the premises outside the hospital where the officers entered.
