Omicron In the last 24 hours, 801 citizens tested positive to COVID-19 in Albania.

More than half were detected in the Albanian capital Tirana, followed by Durres and Saranda.

Active cases rose to 7,049, of which 113 are being treated in hospital.

Two deaths were reported on Tuesday, taking the official death toll to 3,224.

Single-day infections reached the highest peak this February when 1,239 citizens tested positive.

New measures entered into force on Tuesday now requiring civil servants and shopping mall employees to be fully vaccinated.

An 11 PM curfew remains in force, including a ban on gatherings of more than 50 people.
