During an operation investigating the kidnapping and murder of Ruzhdi Hoxha, the police have found a parcel of land containing 300 cannabis roots and arrested the brother of the suspect, who is now thought to have aided him in the murder.

Pajtim Rrushi, 42, is being accused of “tampering with the evidence” and “hiding or destroying the victim’s body”.

The police have been able to uncover the man behind the murder and kidnapping of Ruzhdi Hoxha, as so far, the evidence points to him being, Fredi Rrushi.

In addition, he is being suspected of ordering and organizing the cultivation of plant narcotics in the Ballenj village.

Sources from the investigating team have told Euronews Albania that the cannabis roots had been planted in a remote village in Ballenj, located close to the border with Bulqiza.

Several other citizens who are thought to have been hired by the murderer to work in the plantation have now been stopped and taken into custody.

So far, investigators believe that the murder motive was related to unpaid debt and drug deals.

The police found the body of the victim a few days ago, after an hours-long operation, which lead them to the murder victim’s personal jacket covered in blood and finally to his decomposing body that had been laid under a pile of gravel.

Rrushi, now on the run, was known to law enforcement authorities due to his prior involvement in two violent assaults with a weapon.
