After the approval of the new General Director of the State Police, Ilir Proda, by the Council of Ministers, there has been a reaction from the opposition as well.
The deputy of the Democratic Party, Flamur Noka, said that today in Albania the new director of the country’s blues has been appointed by organized crime.
Between the lines, calling it the “Narcotics Police”, for Noka, this structure will already have a person directly elected “by the government coordinator with organized crime, Ergys Agasi” at its head.

“From today in Albania, organized crime names the general directorate of the State Police. Directly selected by the government’s organized crime coordinator, Ergys Agasi.”
Ilir Proda is now officially the new General Director of the State Police. After the proposal by Interior Minister Ervin Hoxha, Proda received approval from the Council of Ministers this Wednesday.
It was the Minister of the Interior himself who made the news public in a statement to the media. Hoxha announced that the competitions for police leaders at the local level will start soon.
Ilir Proda’s career started in 2005, after graduating from the Police Academy.
Initially, he worked as a Criminal Police specialist in Police Stations 3 and 4 in Tirana until 2012. Then he moved to the General Directorate of the State Police in the crime investigation sector, where he worked for many years.
