Under the motto “For a Stronger Economy, for a More Prosperous Albania,” chambers of commerce have presented a series of proposals to political parties ahead of the parliamentary elections, urging their inclusion in government programs to address current challenges and improve the business climate in the country.

With a nine-point agenda, business associations emphasize that at a crucial moment in Albania’s EU integration process, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)—which form the backbone of the national economy—must be prepared to compete and remain resilient in the European single market.

Key Proposals from Business Associations to Political Parties

Improving infrastructure to facilitate business operations.

Reforming the tax system by simplifying procedures and reducing the fiscal burden on SMEs.

Easing bureaucratic procedures for starting and operating businesses.

Supporting innovation and technology to enhance competitiveness.

Strengthening vocational education by aligning curricula with labor market needs.

Improving the justice system to provide a safer business environment.

Encouraging exports and expanding into international markets.

Enhancing financial access for businesses by simplifying credit opportunities.

Increasing transparency and fighting corruption in the public sector.

With elections approaching, business groups are demanding that their proposals be incorporated into government agendas, warning that without concrete actions, economic growth and job creation will remain stagnant.
