The Immunization Committee of North Macedonia has recommended a third dose on several categories.
Health experts suggest that the booster dose is administered to all citizens older than 60, medical personnel, and patients with a weak immunity system regardless of their age.
Minister of Health Venko Filipce announced that a third Pfizer dose will be administered, injected six months after the second jab.
Citizens that fall under this category will receive a message in order to schedule their appointment.
Over 700,000 people are fully jabbed in North Macedonia, and at least 37% of the population has already received one dose.
North Macedonia has a stock of 250,000 Pfizer jabs, 25,000 Sinovac, around 100,000 AstraZeneca, and authorities confirmed on the state-owned media channel that a batch of 250,000 doses from Johnson & Johnson will be delivered soon, as a donation from Denmark.
North Macedonia will become the second country in the Western Balkans to start administering booster doses, after Serbia.
