The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, is expected to set the date of the snap elections for mayors of municipalities in the north of the country.
Through an announcement from the Presidency, Osmani has invited political subjects for an official consultation in order to set the date.
The consultative meeting with political subjects will be held on November 14, during which we will look at setting the date for the elections in the municipalities of North Mitrovica, Zvecan, Leposavic and Zubin Potok. President Osmani invites the political subjects to set the date of the snap local elections for the new mayors in these communes in the north,” read the statement.
In North Mitrovica, on Sunday, a protest called by the Serbian List was held due to Prishtina’s decision to re-register cars with Serbian license plates to RKS license plates, Republic of Kosovo.
This protest was held one day after the decision of the Serbian List to leave all the institutions of Kosovo as a result of Kurti’s decision to convert the plates.
Ten deputies of the Serbian List, the largest party of ethnic Serbs in Kosovo, submitted their resignations to the Parliament of Kosovo last Monday.
