President Vjosa Osmani declared that Kosovo sees NATO’s membership as a guarantee for peace and security in the region.
Osmani gave this statement from Montenegro this Monday, during the Summit for Democracy in South-Eastern Europe, which was centered around the topics of ‘War in Europe and its influence in the Balkan region’.
“Kosovo’s aspirations for its NATO membership aren’t only a political statement. We see our NATO membership, starting from the Partnership for Peace, from the perspective of security and we invite everyone to do the same. We see NATO membership as the best guarantee for long-term and sustainable peace in the region,” – said president Osmani.
Amongst other things, Osmani stated that the war which took place in Kosovo 2 decades ago, made Albanians in Kosovo understand the true meaning of war that has extended to Ukraine as we speak.
