During the last 2 days, more than 6.500 citizens have entered Albania through the border crossing of Kapshtica.
It seems that Albanians have decided to spend their end-of-the-year festivities with the families, whereas clerks at the border are working at maximum capacity due to the high influx.
End-of-year celebrations are the main motivation that is bringing back thousands of Albanians living abroad, who had been forced to see their families due to the restrictions associated with the pandemic.
On December 22, a total of 2.414 citizens crossed the border at Kapshtica, whereas that number doubled the next day, when 4.005 people entered our country.
Meanwhile, authorities at the border crossing of Qafe Thana, which connects our country to North Macedonia, report that a total of 1.517 citizens crossed the border on December 22 and another 1.829 entered the country the following day.
In order to enter Albania, all travelers have to possess a vaccination passport, a PCR test or self-quarantine once entering.
