Leader of the ‘New Kosovo’ Alliance, Behgjet Pacolli stated during an interview for Euronews Albania that the Kurti administration has shown a lack of transparency and according to him, the situation in the country’s northern region has been an overly exaggerated ‘tempest in a teapot’.

“This whole ‘smoke storm’ which to me is nothing but a tempest in the pot, has been overly exaggerated. I ask myself, when will our police come back? KFOR going to the border crossings reminds me of one of Kurti’s speeches in Parliament, when he said that having KFOR [instead of our police] deployed in the north, only serves the Serbian agenda in that part of the country – said Pacolli.

Pacolli also spoke about his fear that the agreement on the association of Serb-majority communes in Kosovo will be signed exactly according to the demands made by the Serbian side.

“We’ve legalized something that we’ve previously considered illegal. We’ve legalized something that isn’t Kosovar, that isn’t constitutional. I’m afraid that what has been happening won’t even be put up for debate. They will insist on having the association happen, exactly like it was prescribed in the agreement,” – said Pacolli.

In addition, Pacolli said that when it comes to the dialogue with Serbia, Kurti as a prime minister goes against Kurti as a leader of the opposition.
