After 2 days of heated debates and discussions, the Albanian Parliament has approved the draft bill on the 2022 State Budget, with 76 votes in favor and 52 against. No MPs abstained or relinquished their right to vote in regards to this bill.
During the second day of discussions about the bill in the Albanian Parliament, the Democratic Party has come out against it. Through Secretary-General, Gazment Bardhi, the opposition maintained that the Budget isn’t intended for citizens and doesn’t go back to them, but rather, it gets divided into a small few or “a tiny group of oligarchs”.
On the other hand, criticism over taxes and investments in the state budget was presented by Socialist MPs, Erjon Brace, and Fatmir Xhafaj. Brace opposed the fiscal package as it pertained to farmers, whereas Xhafaj spoke about the lack of office spaces in the new justice system.
