Former PM Sali Berisha has called for a public reaction and mass protests against the recent scandal that involved the publication of a database containing sensitive financial information and the payslips of hundreds of thousands of citizens.
According to Berisha, organized crime and the mafia is in control of citizens’ data and they use them as they will.
Berisha added that everything was published at this very moment in order to steer the attention away from other ongoing scandals.
“The leaked database belonging to the head of the Medusa state, Edi Rama and his gang – in order to mask out the monstrous scandals of the incinerators affair, arbitrages, PPPs, concessions, secret procurements that according to the Supreme State Audit amount to 8.2 billion euros – represents the most severe and unprecedented action in the history of a nation,” – said Berisha.
In addition, he added that the publication of this sensitive information makes thousands of citizens vulnerable to more personal attacks.
Berisha maintained that the protests “should be the most massive the country has ever known in the past 30 years, so that the criminal mafia regime of the head of the Medusa, Edi Rama, can be overthrown at last”.
