After the publication on the media of certain lists that claim that the socialist party has used the database of the government’s portal e-Albania, which includes personal data of citizens, for the benefit of their electoral campaign, the head of the Special Prosecution Office, Arben Kraja declared that verifications have started and that in the days to come there will be an official response.

Redi Skenderaj, spokesperson of the Commissioner for the Protection of Personal data said for Euronews Albania that the Commissioner’s Office are conducting procedural acts through the collection of evidence and further information.

While defining data processing as one of the fundamental elements of a functioning society, Skenderaj said that the illegal cases of personal data processing, as is being pretended by the Democratic Party, get investigated from a criminal point of view, more specifically by SPAK and from an administrative perspective, by the Office of the Commissioner for the Protection of Personal Data.
