Prime Minister Albin Kurti declared on Thursday that Croatia is the first country that he believes will lobby for Kosovo’s bid in joining the EU and NATO.

Kurti said during a television show that Albania too must lobby for the same cause as much as it can.

“Croatia has always been an ally country, even in the times of the former Yugoslavia. The Prishtina-Zagreb connection served to balance out the domination of Belgrade”, Kurti said.

Kurti also hailed the help given by Croatia and Slovenia during the Serbian occupation.

“Croatia is the first country that we see in from North to West and is on both organizations that we aspire to join. We need to ask Albania, we hope that it has done the same, as it needs to advocate and lobby for Kosovo as much as it can”, declared Kurti.

Kosovo’s executive chief added that it would be ‘utterly irresponsible’ not to ask to join NATO under the current context.
