Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that he has sent a request to the Energy Ministry to look into possibilities to help out the government of Kosovo in providing uninterrupted electrical supply during on New Year’s Eve and the day after.
Rama said that he has been closely following the situation in the neighboring country.
“Following with concern the severe energy crisis that has affected Kosovo, today I asked the Ministry of Energy to evaluate any possibility of assistance to the government of Kosovo so that families in Kosovo do not lack electricity on the two days of the popular holiday of the New Year!”

He added that it has not been easy for Albania to manage the crisis that has grasped Europe, but that it does have the capacity to help Kosovo for two days.
“Albania does not have it easy to protect families and small enterprises from the raging wave of the energy crisis that is threatening every country, but during popular joys such as New Year, we cannot but share as much as we have with Kosovo “, said Rama.
Kosovo has been in the midst of an energy crisis for the past week with citizens reporting several hour outages.
