During his testimony for the Inquiry Commission set up to investigate the incinerators scandal, PM Rama refuted any personal responsibility in the matter.
While representatives of the opposition reminded him of the arrest of former environment minister Left Koka, PM Rama asked them to refrain from mentioning him.
At this point, when PM Rama’s microphone was switched off, he uttered that he would “do the same thing when DP’s chair – Lulzim Basha – will meet the same fate”, implying his arrest.
“I will never mention Lulzim, when they take him there [implying: prison],” – declared Rama before the commission.

The head of state continued with his jabs against the opposition by dividing them into supporters of Basha and supporters of Berisha.
When asked about the accusations on the three incinerators which involved the theft of millions of euros from the state budget, Rama said that he distances himself from the work of others and that everyone involved will be held responsible.
“If they have done it, they’ll face justice. My work has nothing to do with money; for me, the money of Albanian people and the money of anyone else has nothing to do with me personally,” – said Rama.
In addition, PM Rama added that the construction of these 3 incinerators had one main goal “to clean up the country” because we were facing an “environmental emergency and used to be the dirtiest country in all of Europe”.
