Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama posted on Friday a video on social media showing the project for the new Vlora Flag Square.
The head of the government said that the intent is to bring more green spaces into the city, as well as give make the city’s historical sites stand out even more.
Rama explained that the new square will be a place to host fairs and expositions, and ruled out that the project involves a bus terminal.
The citizens of Vlora have taken the streets for days in a row to oppose the government’s plan at the square, amid fears that it might damage the city’s cultural and historical heritage.
