Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted for the first time following an Instagram post published in the official account of Serbian President Alexandar Vucic depicting the territory of Kosovo painted by the colors of the Serbian flag, causing a massive outcry in the country.

During a visit in Kukes where the prime minister was seeing from near the vaccination rollout for medical staff of Kosovo hospitals, PM Rama said that the Serbian president chose to “play with puppets on Facebook”.

“I’ve told you to come in Kukes, at the end of the day it is a mutual place because apart from the fact that we are two states and we share a border, it is completely simple and natural for Kukes to function as a joint base, the other party was a bit late, but it’s better that it happened like after that “worthless map” posted by that friend in Belgrade playing with puppets on Facebook”, said Rama.

Rama said that Kosovo and Albania “are one” and that their future belongs in the European Union.

“We are one. The future is clear, we are all dreaming and working on that, of course sometimes our approaches on how to reach that end differ, but in the meantime, at the moment, we are absolutely one”, Rama said.
