On Monday, the Police of Kosovo detained four Russian citizens after entering the country illegally from Serbia.

A statement released by the police noted that the Russians were caught near Leposavic as they were trying to cross the border.

“Around 11 AM, in the village of Jelakce, Leposavic, based on reasonable suspicion we pulled over a vehicle with foreign license plates, type Opel Astra, with four foreign (Russian) persons, as they had illegally entered the territory of the Republic of Kosovo via an alternative road”, the statement read.

The four, reportedly two men and two women, are to stay under police custody for the next 48 hours for further procedures.
