Police: MEMEX has not been affected, the leaked data isn’t related to the database

The State Police announced that the MEMEX system has not been hacked and that the recently leaked data is not related to the database of the police system.

“From the statements made today in the press and the references of these statements, according to which data was obtained from the MEMEX system, we clarify the public opinion that this system has not been affected and that these data have nothing to do with the database of the MEMEX police system. The State Police announced that, until the present moment, sensitive data administered in this system, which are related to police work, have not been affected or damaged”, the police notice reports.

The State Police further clarified that in cooperation with its partners, it is investigating the origin of the data leak.

“We appeal that, in accordance with the prosecutor’s order, dated 19.09.2022, not to be published by the audiovisual media, written, online, in social media or in any other form of publication or transfer, data posted by the authors of this cyberattack to the digital systems of the State Police”, the announcement further states.

Today, the so-called Homeland Justice site released more documents from the Albanian police files. The documents show the data of persons who are suspected of being involved in criminal activities.
