More than 1 in 2 Albanians (53.3%) want to earn more in 2022. Employment or getting a better job was their second wish (21.3%) for the new year and leaving Albania (11.9%) was actually the third most popular answer amongst Albanians.

Euronews Albania’s Barometer poll, in regards to the expectations of Albanian citizens for the new year, made some additional very interesting findings.

Amongst those who wanted better earnings in 2022, the overwhelming majority (84.8%) were over the age of 65. Younger age groups, from 18 to 34 years old, desire better earnings much less, compared to those 45+.

The opposite is true, when it comes to those wanting to leave the country this year. The majority (48%) ranged from 18 to 34 years old.

The number of those over the age of 45, who wanted to leave the country was much lower.

This Barometer poll was conducted by MRB and DataCentrum – from November 20 to 30, 2021 – through a total of 1.000 in-person interviews in Albanian households.
