Technical Experts Committee has just declared this Thursday morning that the Omicron variant has arrived in Albania.

So far, experts say they’ve confirmed two cases that have contracted the Omicron variant after their samples came back from Germany after undergoing a detailed sequence testing.

According to the Committee chair, Mira Rakacolli, the situation is stable whereas currently, Delta is still the most dominant variant in our country.

The Committee will be presenting a detailed plan of measures today, that will be put in place in order to prevent the spread of COVID during the end-of-year festivities.

Experts will be communicating this plan in the coming hours.
