President Begaj at the Inauguration of Pope Leo: Your Leadership Is a Voice of Hope and Unity

President Bajram Begaj led the Albanian delegation participating in the inauguration ceremony of Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican, attended by prominent figures from around the world.

The Head of State also held a meeting with Pope Leo XIV, during which he expressed his warmest congratulations on the occasion of his election as Holy Father and Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church.

“The President of the Republic also commended the Holy Father for his mission in preserving peace and building bridges of dialogue in a world filled with challenges and uncertainty. President Begaj emphasized that his spiritual leadership represents a voice that brings hope, compassion, and unity among people.

Albania is a model of religious coexistence, where tolerance, respect, and harmony among different faiths are deeply rooted values and a cherished legacy passed down through generations,” stated a media release from the Presidency.

President Begaj was accompanied at the ceremony by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, and Albania’s Ambassador to the Holy See, Majlinda Frangaj.
