President of the Republic Ilir Meta, met today with ambassador Zef Mazi, who was appointed a few days ago as Albania’s Chief Negotiator with the European Union.

Head of State unveiled details from the meeting, as he writes on his official Facebook page that Albania is obliged to fulfill all conditions set by the EU.

“It was a pleasure to meet today with Ambassador Zef Mazi, who was appointed as Albania’s Chief Negotiator with the European Union. We openly and constructively discussed today about accession negotiation perspectives. While Albanian politics shall be willing to fulfill the conditions, technical preparations and the growth of negotiating capacities are important,” writes President Meta.

He further adds that Albania’s integration within the European Union is a nationwide object and we should all work in order to achieve it.

“I ensured the ambassador that he has full support from the Institution of the President of the Republic in his duty. European integration is a nationwide objective,” concluded the President.
