President Ilir Meta called on the Albanian government to lower the price of fuel and adopt an economic relief package for vulnerable families.
Meta emphasized that there have been no attempts to cut down on abusive prices in fuel, energy, or in the basket of goods.
The president also noted that the country has not taken any measures to protect farmers and small enterprises.
Meta drew a comparison to other neighboring countries, such as Croatia’s fuel tax cut, or Greece’s family aid for low-income families.
President Meta’s reaction comes after hundreds rallied in front of the PM Office as price of fuel hit a record high.
