The President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, has expressed his sorrow and condolences for the loss of many lives in the Kočani fire, as well as for the injured and those still missing.

In a post, President Costa conveyed the EU’s support for the Macedonian people.

“Heartbroken by the loss of so many young lives in the horrific fire in Kočani. My thoughts are with all the families of the victims of this tragedy. The EU stands in solidarity with the people of North Macedonia in this moment of mourning,” the post reads.
