At the request of the Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK), GJKKO (Special Court against Crime and Corruption) has issued 21 security measures in the framework of the investigation of a criminal organization with international scope, which includes members of the criminal organization, a senior police official, a judge on duty during the criminal activity, a lawyer and two journalists.

SPAK informs that certain security measures are as follows:

Imprisonment – ​​18 people (including former judge Zihni Shahu and the senior official of the state police);

House arrest – 1 lawyer;

Obligation to appear at the judicial police – for 2 journalists Artan Hoxha and Elton Qyno.

The operation for the execution of security measures, which is being supported by Europol and other Albanian and European law enforcement agencies, is ongoing.

SPAK undertook this Monday a major operation to attack criminal groups in the city of Elbasan.

Two former judges of Elbasan, Pajtime Fetahu and Zihni Shahu, ended up in handcuffs. The latter was also the head of the Court of Elbasan.
