Prime Minister Edi Rama today held a meeting with Albanians living in Thessaloniki as part of the tour with the diaspora.
Rama was welcomed with cheers during the speech held in front of the supporters gathered in a hall in “Porto Palace”, in Thessaloniki, but in the meantime a group of about 20 Albanians living in Greece protested against him outside the premises of that hall.
Euronews Albania journalist Xhensil Shkëmbi asked them about the reasons for their revolt.
“Weren’t you in there? Why were the cameras only taking the prime minister and not listening to the complaints, very few people applauded, I sat and listened for 1 and a half hours for lies. Those who are going to be put in prison are put in because they disrupt their work, I don’t care if Meta or Berisha is in prison, I care about increasing pensions, my mother has a pension of 100,000 lek. He has been in the government for 12 years, he has not done anything for migrants and he comes looking for votes. What reason does Edi Rama have to ask for the vote, why do I make the patriot inside for 5 minutes. Wasn’t Edi Rama the one who covered the statue of the national hero Skanderbeg in the middle of Tirana when Erdogan came to Albania? Why does he play the patriot here?” said one of the protesters.
