Protesters are now marching toward the headquarters of the Tirana Police demanding the release of those detained in the last two rallies.

Thousands gathered on Saturday around 11 AM at the main square to protest for the fourth day in a row over increased prices in Albania.

They headed then toward the Prime Ministry chanting “Rama leave” and accusing the government of corruption.

Other cities also joined the call to protest in Tirana.

“It’s my first day at the protest. I’m here to protest against the increase in food prices. I’m currently unemployed”, says a protester.

“Everything has become more expensive. This is affecting our families’ economy, that’s why I joined the protest”, said another protester.

Many others chant “Rama leave”, “Government of corruption” and “We’re not paying your crisis”.

Prime Minister Edi Rama declared on Friday that the state will set the price of fuel, in consultation with the suppliers and vowed to sign a normative act to administer fuel supply.
