The clash between the protesters and the police has started. Deputies of the Democratic Party and citizens have clashed with the officers stationed around the security perimeter of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Meanwhile, Molotov cocktails have started being thrown at the Prime Minister’s Office and State Police officers.
It was the deputies of the Democratic Party who started the confrontation with the law enforcement that created the cordon in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Further, the citizens continued the clash by throwing hard objects, Molotov cocktails and firecrackers in the direction of the Prime Minister’s building and the police cordon.
One of the large trees in front of the Prime Minister’s Office was engulfed in flames and it was necessary to intervene with fire extinguishers to bring the situation under control.
About 1,500 police forces have been committed to the success of the opposition protest.
The protest comes as a reaction to the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama, which has increased political tensions after the sentence of MP Ervin Salianji to one year in prison by the Court of Appeal.
