PM Edi Rama declared during today’s press conference that the massive data leak of the salaries of over 600 thousand employees has to be investigated by the Prosecution.

“I want to apologize to all those who have been unfairly harmed by this intervention to their private lives. I want to underline that this is an event that deserves the utmost investigation. I call on all law enforcement agencies to run investigations using all possible capacities,” – said Rama.

In addition, Rama pointed accusations at the opposition in regards to the publication of the list of wages.

“Keeping in mind the strong declarations made during his town hall meetings and assemblies and anti-Assemblies, this may not be the last, which is why I call on the Prosecution to keep investigating,” – he said.

The head of state also underlined that so far, there are suspicions of a possible internal infiltration as opposed to a cybernetic attack.

“We are dealing with an intervention that needs to be investigated fully so that the origin can be figured out, but the preliminary data points to this being an intervention from someone on the inside (…) rather than it being a cybernetic attack,” – said Rama.
