Qafoku: You are making Rama ‘superhuman’, are you really saying he bought the FBI?
Journalist, Roland Qafoku, commented on Euronews Albania regarindg the accusations made by Sali Berisha about Prime Minister Edi Rama’s connections with the former FBI official, recenty arrested after he was accused of corruption, Charles McGonigal.
Qafoku said that the allegations that Prime Minister Rama bought the FBI are giving him attributes that he does not have, turning him into a ‘superhuman’.
“It’s top news in America. It is a very big scandal, but the jumps that are made between the FBI official and the SHISH official, reach the point where they’re actually claiming that Edi Rama has bought the FBI.
Mr. Berisha mentioned two names that [according to him] are implicated in all of this and if they are in fact implicated they represent themselves. Saying that Edi Rama has bought the FBI, you understand very well what kind of news this is. You are making Edi Rama a superman, you are saying he is so powerful that he was also able to ‘buy’ the FBI,”- said Qafoku.
It’s worth mentioning that McGonigal was arrested in the US after suspicions of ties to a Russian oligarch. American media has reported that the former senior FBI counterintelligence official held a secret meeting with Rama in 2017 and received a payment of $225,000 from a former Albanian SHISH official.
