The chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has described Prime Minister Edi Rama as a traitor, who, according to him, works against the interests of the country.

During his speech at the opposition protest, Meta stated that Rama is following him from a luxury charter jet, accusing him of taking frequent trips.

Meta underlined that very soon, Rama will face justice.

“Good evening to the chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha and the eagles who are here today. Today the traitor follows this rally of victory, of triumph, of democracy, from his luxurious and illegal charter jet. Very soon he will be brought to justice according to his own laws, according to the signatures he himself made. You are the one who has the right to hold the government accountable. You are the one who has the right to oust the government, when its leaders rob, steal and sell land, as Rama and Rilindja do,” he emphasized.

The protest started shortly after 16:00, when it was first announced. There is a high number of citizens with placards in their hands demanding the overthrow of the Rama government.

The Special Forces and the police are on the ground mobilized for any incident. The prime minister’s office was armored before everything started, while the light poles were greased.
