Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that Albania will support Finland and Sweden’s bid to join NATO.
Rama made the statement during a joint press conference with Finnish counterpart Sanna Marin in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.
“We fully support the accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO. It’s about two countries that from every aspect would be an added value to the Alliance, and even more so under current circumstances, the doors of the alliance must be open for Finland and Sweden to join”, Rama said.
“We’re privileged to have the opportunity to do something for Finland”, he added.
Rama said the two heads of government spoke about the accession negotiations of Albania and North Macedonia.
He also said not to expect anything, referring to the Intergovernmental Conference and thanked the EU for its effort in convincing Sofia to lift the veto on Skopje.
