Rama’s cabinet has changed yet again. PM Edi Rama announced this morning through a post on his Twitter account that Belinda Balluku has been appointed deputy prime minister.

Meanwhile, Arben Ahmetaj was discharged from his function as deputy prime minister and minister of state for reconstruction.

“I thank Arben Ahmetaj for his contribution to our successfully completed mission on reconstruction. I thank Zef Mazi for his contribution to our historical achievement of opening negotiations; 2 valuable collaborators in a journey filled with challenges that don’t end here. It’s time for the deputy prime minister to focus on challenges like infrastructure and energy, which is why the new deputy PM will be Belinda Balluku,” – wrote Rama.

In addition, Zef Mazi will no longer be the chief negotiator. He will be replaced by Majlinda Dhuka. The latter will also become minister of state.

“Now that the priority of our negotiations with the EU will take the place of reconstruction, the profile of the minister of state will also change. Majlinda Dhuka, a high-level technical profile in the country, will be substituting the high-level diplomatic profile of ambassador Mazi, by becoming Chief Negotiator and minister of state,” – wrote Rama in his Twitter post.
