DP leader Sali Berisha called PM Edi Rama ‘a vassal of the Serbian President’ after the latter said to boycott the high-level meeting between the leaders of the EU and the region.
In a press conference, Berisha said Rama solidified relations with Belgrade and Moscow through the regional initiative Open Balkan.
According to him, the process caused a significant rift between Albania and Kosovo.
“The process solidified, in one way or another, relations not only with Belgrade but also Moscow. We were witness to that. This process brought division and a cold war between Albania and Kosovo”.
“It happened that an adventurer, a vassal without national interests in mind, declared yesterday that he’ll refuse the invitation to go to Brussels. This decision was taken in Belgrade, while Rama only says what his patron tells him”.
“Never before has the fate of our country been farther from our hands than this time”, concluded Berisha.
