Prime Minister Edi Rama held his latest campaign meeting with citizens in Peshkopi, where he emphasized the completion of the Rruga e Arbrit project. Rama expressed satisfaction that the road is now finished, effectively connecting Dibra to Tirana faster than ever before—so much so that he described Dibra as “a neighborhood of Tirana.”
He also highlighted that the Maqellarë–Peshkopi segment is now complete, making the journey between Dibra and the capital significantly shorter.
“I no longer come to Dibra saying we’ll build the Rruga e Arbrit or the Murrizi Tunnel. Now, from Astrit’s hotel to Tirana, it’s as fast as a bullet. You’re a neighborhood of Tirana,” Rama said, underlining the road’s impact.
Turning to the upcoming May 11 elections, Rama stressed that voting for the Socialist Party (PS) is a vote for Albania’s integration into the European Union, a move he says will open new horizons and opportunities—particularly for young people.
“On May 11, Albania must choose: join the EU within this decade and be equal to other Europeans, or fall back into the hole, with Albanians once again left outside of Europe—foreigners on a continent where they are among the oldest peoples chosen by God to live in its heart,” said Rama.
He added that Albania’s EU membership would mark the beginning of a new era:
“An EU-member Albania is a different Albania—a new one, a new horizon, a new hope, especially for the younger generation. If today we’ve done a lot with EU support in various sectors, their total aid over the years has exceeded one billion euros,” Rama concluded.
