PM Edi Rama was present in ‘Skanderbeg square’ today to follow in-person the start of the massive vaccination process, where he stated that he feels optimistic that within the month of May, half a million Albanians will have been vaccinated.
According to the Head of State, Albania has secured enough doses of the anti-COVID vaccine, to ensure the immunization of the entire population before the projected timeline of 14 months.
Rama stated that in the near future, with the intensification of the vaccination process and by breaking the chain of infection, it will be possible for the country to lift its restrictive measures for the holiday season.
“I believe that this holiday season will be met by a very alleviated situation. We remain certain that until next spring the entire population will have been vaccinated, but I have a conviction that we will have completed this process even before next spring,” said the PM while adding that the vaccine won’t be required from tourists coming to Albania for the holidays.
