In his speech at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that the accusations listed in Dick Marty’s report are the most terrible and untrue news to have ever been distributed.
In his speech, Rama emphasized that all the accusations against the senior leaders of the KLA are unproven claims and unsupported by any clear-cut evidence.
“The report mentioned by name, the senior leaders of the KLA and accused them of committing terrible crimes, including organ trafficking, during and after the war, in 1998 and 1999. The Albanian delegation at the time did not prevent this, even though no property of what the authors claimed to have obtained during the investigation was adopted in its entirety.
I am here today, not because I and we in Albania found out just today that this was the most terrible news to have ever been spread, but because we waited patiently until we saw the official accusation. I hope you understand the seriousness of this all. They were unverified claims of a former prosecutor, looking for big sales of her book” – emphasized Rama.
