Through a post on Twitter, PM Edi Rama has refuted several news agencies, which published headlines such as 700,000 Albanians have fled the country in the last 12 years, 7 employees a day run away from the police, or 3 years after the earthquake, they have no home, etc.
According to Rama, these types of headlines are disinformation and fake news produced by private TV stations.
The Prime Minister wrote that these news stations have sought illegal favors which weren’t met and therefore are now inciting people against the government.
“The Ruble Alliance is clearer and clearer every day, every day they get angrier and more desperate! One of their spokespersons, an indomitable eater of shame is even saying things like: Those who slander are not to blame, but the prime minister is to blame for not being transparent about every slander! #DavaRublash”, wrote Rama on Twitter.
PM Rama has been using the ‘Rubles’ analogy to accuse the opposition led by Sali Berisha of a secret alliance with Moscow after words started to circulate in western media that the Democratic Party – under Lulzim Basha’s leadership – had received funding from the Russian government.
