Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that it is not the government that decides on the increase in the price of electricity.
From Bulqiza, Rama underlined that the government sets the price bands, while ERE sets the price.
“They come out again and say the price has increased. What price increased; how did it increase? The price of energy is on the bill. It is true that we have agreed on setting up price bands. ERE does not impose a price band, the price band is imposed by who administers it and the state administers it.
ERE decides what the price is. People pay 9.5 ALL, the price is 44 ALL, that’s how much it costs. We are forced to import, Albania does not have all the resources necessary to meet its domestic needs”, he emphasized.
The Energy Regulatory Body stated that for the months of November-December of this year, the price of 44 LEK per kilowatt above the 800 KW band will be applied.
Through an announcement, ERE made it known that the price of electricity supply for consumers who consume above the consumption band of 800 kW, will remain subject to periodic review.
