The leader of the Socialist Party Edi Rama said during the National Assembly meeting on Wednesday that the SP must ‘be an open party’.
For that reason, the Congress due on April 9 will be attended by interest groups and other important actors.
According to Rama, the Socialists will continue to claim victories if they consider themselves as the main competitor first but also pursue self-reformation processes.
In terms of the party’s organization, Rama said to introduce at the Congress all the objectives tasked on secretariats.
“We will set milestones to be achieved by the government, parliamentary party and the executive council”, said the leader of the Socialists.
The General Secretary of the Socialist Party, Damian Gjiknuri, said in his word that the executive council set up a working group tasked with amending the party’s statute.
According to Gjiknuri, the Socialists have some major challenges ahead.
“The state of the party reflects that of the government. Having a healthy party is a recipe for having a healthy government”, Gjiknuri said.
