“Not a single dime has been paid to Italian entrepreneur Francesco Becchetti, or anybody else”.

These were the words used by Prime Minister Edi Rama in responding to an allegation from Democrat MP Jorida Tabaku that the ‘bill paid to arbitrage summed up to €385 million’.

“Zero, but not only an amount of zero, but the confrontation continues. It continues in every space where there is an opportunity for a legal confrontation”, Rama said.

“I regret your statement Ms. Tabaku as you’re a person who reads a lot, and takes a lot of notes, and for someone who reads and takes a lot of notes to speak of €385 million which actually don’t exist, is kind of disturbing”, added the prime minister.

Rama continued to say that the country has the lowest taxes in the region.

“Labor in Albania is taxed less than in the entire region to a maximum of 5,5%. Albania has unquestionably the lowest taxes in the region. There is no small business in the region with zero taxes. How do you come up with us having the highest taxes?”
