Prime Minister Edi Rama asked the Council of Europe Assembly in Strasbourg to annul the Dick Marty report.
Rama underlined during his speech that there is no parallel between Kosovo and Crimea.
The head of the Albanian government reiterated once again that Kosovo is an independent republic.
“Our new initiative, Open Balkans, is an effort to realize the aspirations and object of the Berlin process, it reflects our will. For the past, the truths we choose to point out, how we think we are, and how others perceive us all have value.
Here is when I arrive at the main point, I wanted to raise with you today. The reason why it matters not only to those directly affected but to all of us. For citizens’ ability to maintain trust in politics and international institutions. There are nations in the history of the world who live their whole lives defending their freedom while in the midst of violence. This is the case in the nation of Ukraine today. This is why there is no parallel between Kosovo and Crimea and why there is one between Kosovo and Ukraine. Kosova is the official name, not Kosovo, the Republic of Kosova, it’s never too late to do the right thing,” said Rama.
