PM Edi Rama declared during an end-of-year press conference this afternoon, that stricter anti-COVID will be imposed to keep the spread of Omicron at bay.

Rama pointed to the example of the Netherlands, which has gone on lockdown until March of next year, in order to contain the new variant and prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.

However, the prime minister didn’t hint at a possible lockdown in our country, but he did say that additional measures need to be enforced, ‘without tightening the supply chain too much’.

In addition, Rama claimed that a considerable number of citizens abroad have gotten vaccinated, without touching upon the reality of massive inoculation in our country.

In conclusion, the prime minister declared that the Infective Hospital in the capital city will undergo a fundamental restoration project, which will result in its complete modernization.
