Luciano Boci and Oerd Bylykbashi will negotiate with other opposition parties for the selection of the new Albanian President on behalf of the Refoundation Commission.

Former PM Sali Berisha said in a press conference on Tuesday evening that the new political must have a political background.

“Imagining a president not involved in politics is absurd. The president’s post is a political one. Although it doesn’t have an executive role, that does not imply that it’s not political. Every other criterion is wrong, fabricated, and nonsense”, Berisha said.

The floor leader of the Socialist Party Taulant Balla said earlier in the day that the first round for the selection of presidential nominees must take place on May 16 at 5 PM.

According to Balla, the date is within the deadlines set by the Constitution.
